*Call to Worship:
One: God makes a home among us through love and compassion.
All: Yet we scoff at love and treat compassion as weakness.
One: God offers grace unlimited and mercy without end.
All: Yet we struggle with forgiveness and seek retribution.
One: And still God is with us, offering us paradise through peace, light in the midst of darkness.
All: God, fill our hearts with thanks as we return again to your sheltering and welcoming love.

Prayers of the People
Confession and Pardon
All: Lord of all times, we come into your presence asking your forgiveness. We have failed to live as people of the present. We have wasted moments, wanting the future now, seeing the world’s dreams as the answer to today’s problems. Rather than seeing your blessing in each day, we have looked backward to glory days that seem glorious only in their passing. Open our eyes to your mission at hand, the kingdom you are bringing about in our midst, the home you are building with, in, and through us. Open our ears, our eyes, and our hearts to your message of belonging so that we might participate in bringing the good news of salvation to the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen
Leader: Hear the good news: We are beloved of God and recipients of God’s love and blessings. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
People: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven
All: Let us be glad and rejoice in this, amen!
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
